Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 3.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 6.42% or 0.1800 points to trade at 2.9840 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) added 5.36% or 1.07 points to end at 21.02 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 5.31% or 0.380 points to 7.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which added 0.85% or 0.10 points to trade at 11.88 in late trade. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 1.05% or 0.37 points to end at 35.76 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) gained 1.99% or 0.58 points to 29.68.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 7.02% or 2.26 to $34.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 6.06% or 1.76 to hit $30.80 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1208.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1142, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7788.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.80.
