Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.78% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 3.25% or 7.90 points to trade at 251.01 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) added 2.92% or 0.50 points to end at 17.63 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 2.41% or 0.420 points to 17.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 3.08% or 0.83 points to trade at 26.11 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 1.92% or 7.66 points to end at 392.34 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 1.46% or 0.410 points to 27.660.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 101 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.69% or 8.61 to $1254.11 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.54% or 1.19 to hit $45.73 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.62% or 1.29 to trade at $48.01 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.91% to 17.6425, while EUR/MXN rose 1.16% to 20.5764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 93.77.
