Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 5.16% or 1.84 points to trade at 37.48 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.35% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) was up 3.96% or 0.220 points to 5.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vestel (IS:VESTL), which lost 2.65% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.520 in late trade. Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) declined 2.50% or 0.020 points to end at 0.780 and Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK) shed 2.32% or 1.60 points to 67.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 222 to 183 and 7 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.56% or 6.00 to $1074.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.56% or 0.56 to hit $36.37 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.04 to trade at $36.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.68% to 2.9333, while EUR/TRY rose 1.20% to 3.2208.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 98.07.
