Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr), which rose 7.62% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.130 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 6.25% or 0.001 points to end at 0.017 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 5.20% or 0.042 points to 0.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which lost 28.57% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.015 in late trade. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 10.48% or 0.013 points to end at 0.111 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) shed 4.26% or 0.85 points to 19.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 33 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.40 to $1078.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.53% or 0.22 to hit $41.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.12 to trade at $44.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.0659, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7010.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 99.56.
