Investing.com - Gold futures were lower in European trade on Friday.
On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1204.30 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.27%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1201.40 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1197.20 and resistance at USD1236.70.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.07% to trade at USD94.54.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery rose 0.29% to trade at USD16.428 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery fell 0.73% to trade at USD2.601 a pound.
