On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1288.20 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.05%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1283.60 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1281.00 and resistance at USD1298.80.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.31% to trade at USD81.64.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 1.88% to trade at USD19.853 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 1.30% to trade at USD3.202 a pound.
