On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1288.70 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.47%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1287.10 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1281.00 and resistance at USD1305.20.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.01% to trade at USD81.40.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.68% to trade at USD20.233 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery rose 1.03% to trade at USD3.248 a pound.
