On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1284.40 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.96%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1282.10 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1282.10 and resistance at USD1314.60.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.02% to trade at USD81.52.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.80% to trade at USD20.432 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.28% to trade at USD3.232 a pound.
