On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1300.30 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.42%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1298.10 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1289.40 and resistance at USD1314.40.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.23% to trade at USD81.29.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.02% to trade at USD20.572 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.75% to trade at USD3.219 a pound.
