On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for June delivery traded at USD1202.00 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.51%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1195.00 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1178.20 and resistance at USD1208.70.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.77% to trade at USD97.76.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for May delivery fell 1.85% to trade at USD16.743 a troy ounce while Copper for May delivery fell 0.65% to trade at USD2.731 a pound.
