On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1200.30 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.69%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1197.30 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1197.30 and resistance at USD1236.70.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.47% to trade at USD94.58.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery fell 0.43% to trade at USD16.307 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery rose 1.12% to trade at USD2.611 a pound.
