On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1231.30 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.82%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1231.00 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1252.10 and resistance at USD1286.60.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.16% to trade at USD94.85.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery fell 1.26% to trade at USD16.855 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery fell 1.29% to trade at USD2.547 a pound.
