On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1258.90 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 2.20%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1252.60 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1252.60 and resistance at USD1300.20.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.15% to trade at USD95.03.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery fell 6.47% to trade at USD16.918 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery fell 0.95% to trade at USD2.456 a pound.
