On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1229.70 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.17%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1227.50 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1226.30 and resistance at USD1250.20.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.24% to trade at USD85.58.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for December delivery rose 0.03% to trade at USD17.188 a troy ounce while Copper for December delivery rose 0.68% to trade at USD3.062 a pound.
