Investing.com - Gold futures were higher in European trade on Friday.
On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for February delivery traded at USD1211.10 a troy ounce at time of writing rising 0.22%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD1214.30 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1177.80 and resistance at USD1223.30.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.21% to trade at USD92.35.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery fell 0.56% to trade at USD16.293 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery fell 0.84% to trade at USD2.746 a pound.
