Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Food and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 10.00% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.660 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 9.59% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.1600 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 9.35% or 0.013 points to 0.152 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 5.83% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.097 in late trade. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 3.80% or 0.200 points to end at 5.050 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 3.52% or 0.031 points to 0.850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 51 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.38% or 4.45 to $1161.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $52.78 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $55.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.0664, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8407.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 100.80.
