Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Developers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 3.51% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.90 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.92% or 2.66 points to end at 93.81 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 1.68% or 1.09 points to 66.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 3.89% or 0.45 points to trade at 11.11 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.19% or 0.98 points to end at 43.76 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 2.17% or 0.31 points to 13.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 319 to 239 and 109 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.07% or 0.91 to $44.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $47.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.30 to trade at $1103.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.1997, while USD/PLN rose 0.25% to 3.7273.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.79.
