On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for September delivery traded at USD97.45 a barrel at time of writing falling 0.12%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD97.34 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD96.55 and resistance at USD98.67.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.15% to trade at USD81.47.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for September delivery fell 0.28% to trade at USD105.73 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD8.28 a barrel.
