On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for February delivery traded at USD47.97 a barrel at time of writing falling 0.08%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD47.78 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD47.55 and resistance at USD55.11.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.21% to trade at USD92.06.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for February delivery fell 0.31% to trade at USD51.02 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD3.05 a barrel.
