On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for February delivery traded at USD53.58 a barrel at time of writing falling 0.06%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD53.52 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD52.90 and resistance at USD56.59.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.08% to trade at USD90.61.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for February delivery fell 0.25% to trade at USD57.80 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD4.22 a barrel.
