Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Food and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 1.11% or 0.54 points to trade at 49.30 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) added 0.57% or 2.00 points to end at 355.70 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 0.30% or 0.04 points to 13.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 8.66% or 6.02 points to trade at 63.50 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 5.29% or 0.40 points to end at 7.16 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 2.52% or 12.00 points to 465.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 278 to 206 and 196 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.84% or 0.37 to $44.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.98% or 0.46 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.39 to trade at $1250.29 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.18% to 4.2318, while USD/PLN fell 0.42% to 3.7224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 95.80.
