Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 6.58% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0081 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 3.24% or 0.2090 points to end at 6.6680 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was up 2.99% or 0.0885 points to 3.0445 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC), which lost 2.70% or 0.0145 points to trade at 0.5225 in late trade. Sonae (LISBON:YSO) declined 1.20% or 0.0155 points to end at 1.2775 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) shed 1.15% or 0.01 points to 0.86.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 44 to 26 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.51% or 1.01 to $68.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.99% or 0.60 to hit $61.35 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.01% or 24.00 to trade at $1216.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.33% to 1.1362, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.7218.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.12% at 93.64.
