Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Plantations, Trading and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 9.09% or 0.10 points to end at 1.20 and Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC (CM:DPL) was up 8.15% or 1.10 points to 14.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kegalle Plantations PLC (CM:KGAL), which lost 36.18% or 48.70 points to trade at 85.90 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 7.14% or 0.10 points to end at 1.40 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) shed 5.91% or 4.60 points to 73.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 86 and 13 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.03% or 0.01 to $50.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $56.67 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.30 to trade at $1105.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 208.530, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 133.965.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 98.03.
