Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Tourism, Electricity and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.09% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 1.87% or 0.66 points to trade at 35.96 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) added 1.75% or 0.120 points to end at 6.970 and Do-Co (IS:DOCO) was up 1.70% or 5.00 points to 299.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN), which lost 6.32% or 0.160 points to trade at 2.370 in late trade. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) declined 5.71% or 0.36 points to end at 5.94 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 5.04% or 0.55 points to 10.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 77 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.23% or 2.50 to $1072.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.16% or 0.06 to hit $37.59 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.17 to trade at $40.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.04% to 2.9115, while EUR/TRY rose 0.30% to 3.1675.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 98.52.
