Mark O'Byrne has a B.A. in the Classics and History where he focused primarily on economic and monetary history. Before setting up GoldCore (formerly Gold Investments) Mark was Contracts Manager and then CEO of Vineyard Recruitment, a company specialising in industrial and secretarial recruitment.

While in that position he began buying physical gold and silver and conducted extensive research about the precious metal markets. His research, analysis and knowledge of the precious metal and wider markets led him to believe that the UK and Ireland was in need of a financial services company specialising in wealth preservation strategies involving an allocation to physical gold and silver bullion.

Mark won the MoneyMate and Investor Magazine Financial Analyst of 2006 when he predicted the Irish property bubble would burst and warned of significant macroeconomic, monetary and systemic risks and of sovereign debt crises - many of which soon materialised.
Mark writes articles in Irish and international financial newspapers, journals and magazines.

His daily ‘Market Updates’ are quoted and reported on in the international financial press on a daily basis. Dow Jones MarketWatch, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, CNN Money, Associated Press, the International Herald Tribune, Barrons, CNBC, the Financial Times and many others have all featured them. 

He takes part in the Reuters Precious Metals Poll and the Bloomberg Gold Survey and was one of the few analysts to correctly predict gold's secular bull market of recent years
