Valueinvest Japan er baseret på valueinvestering i en række børsnoterede valueaktier i Japan. Eventuelle accessoriske kontante midler placeres altid i japanske yen. Der tilstræbes en så stor spredning som muligt i en række valueaktier, der alle har de samme karakteristika: De er af høj kvalitet og billige. Ved kvalitet forstås at selskaberne kun i de færreste tilfælde har nettogæld eller en soliditet, der er under 50%. Ofte bliver der investeret i selskaber med en solvensprocent, der er over 70% og i selskaber, der kan købes for mindre end nettoomsætningsaktiverne.
