Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to maximize current income and achieve above average total return consistent with prudent investment management over a full market cycle. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of the value of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in debt securities issued by securitized vehicles and similar instruments. The fund may invest in derivative instruments such as options, futures and swap agreements for investment management or hedging purposes.

Prior to returning to TCW’s Los Angeles headquarters in 2020, Ms. Crawford spent two years based in TCW’s London office as a research analyst covering Global Securitized Products. Before joining TCW as a CMBS Trader in 2015, Ms. Crawford was a Portfolio Analyst covering securitized products and commercial and residential mortgage REIT equities at EJF Capital LLC (“EJF”), a $9.5bn multi-strategy alternative asset manager in Arlington, Virginia. He serves on the boards of the TCW and Metropolitan West Mutual Funds.Mr. Landmann currently co-manages many of TCW and MetWest’s mutual funds, including the MetWest Total Return Bond Fund, the MetWest High Yield Bond Fund and the TCW Core Fixed Income Fund, and leads the fixed income group’s risk management efforts. He is a leader of the MetWest investment team that was recognized as Morningstar’s Fixed Income Manager of the Year for 2005 and has been nominated for the award nine times. Prior to founding MetWest in 1996, Mr. Landmann was a principal and the co-director of fixed income at Hotchkis and Wiley. Biography Mr. Barach is co-founder and President of DoubleLine Capital. Mr. Barach is a member of the DoubleLine Executive Committee.
