The fund seeks to achieve capital growth. The ACD’s investment policy is to invest the assets of the Fund primarily in the equity of companies domiciled in Asia (with the exclusion of Japan) or with significant Asian (excluding Japan) operations. It may further invest in other securities including fixed interest securities, other equities and money market securities. The Fund may invest up to 40% of its Net Asset Value in China A-Shares through the China-Hong Kong Stock Connect Programme.

Biography | George Gosden joined the company in 2010 as a senior portfolio manager. He is the Deputy Head of Asia ex Japan Equities team and has research responsibility for the technology sector and the markets of Taiwan and Korea. He also manages the Threadneedle (Lux) Asian Equity Income fund and a number of institutional portfolios. Before joining the company, George was a director at Insight Investment, where he managed retail and institutional funds for the Asia and international equity teams. He previously managed Asia equities at Clerical Medical and Equitable Life. George has MA in economic development and international trade and a BA in economics from the University of Nottingham. | ||

Biography | Vanessa joined the Threadneedle in 1994 and was appointed Head of Asia ex Japan Equities team in September 1997. She is currently Head of Asian Equities, EMEA. In addition to her leadership role, Vanessa has analytical responsibility for the banking and insurance sectors across the region and shares responsibility for Australia and the materials sectors. Vanessa began her career in 1981 with Grieveson Grant Stockbrokers where she progressed to manage Far Eastern investments. She joined Allied Dunbar Asset Management¹ in 1986, where she was responsible for the management of Far Eastern funds. Vanessa holds a degree in classics from Oxford University. | ||

Biography | Simon graduated from Magdalene College Cambridge with a degree in Mathematics. He worked for 2 years with Guinness Flight Global Asset Management as an assistant on the Far East Desk covering Japan and Australia. In 1995 he joined Threadneedle Investment Management as a fund manager on the Japan desk which runs over $1 billion. During his 8 years at Threadneedle, Simon was responsible for managing the offshore, institutional and retail funds including small cap. Under his management the Threadneedle Japan Growth Fund was awarded an A rating by S&P/Micropal. He was also Head of the Global Autos Sector team and in charge of economic forecasting for Japan. Simon joined IIM in January 2004 and is co-Fund Manager of the Invicta Chikara Japan Fund. | ||
