Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to provide investors with current income while maintaining a high degree of principal stability. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the sum of its net assets and the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes in bonds, such as: U.S. government securities, which are securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government or its agencies or instrumentalities; residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities; asset-backed securities; corporate debt obligations, including obligations issued by special-purpose entities that are backed by corporate debt obligations; and municipal securities.

Biography Mackenzie is an assistant portfolio manager responsible for investment decisions as well as trading corporate bonds across the credit quality spectrum. Chris rejoined the firm in 2000 after working at Brinson Partners as a director and senior portfolio manager. Prior to that, he was director of risk management for U.S. Bank’s asset management division and broker/dealer. He was also a fixed income portfolio manager at Fortis Advisors and First Minnesota Bank. Chris received a B.S. in business finance from Winona State University.

Marie began working in the financial services industry in 1992. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, she held several positions at American Express Financial Advisors (now Columbia Management) – most recently as a senior fixed income quantitative analyst, co-managing institutional portfolios and separately managed accounts for high-net- worth clients. Marie received a B.A. in finance from the University of St. Thomas. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Minnesota.
