Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to provide current income and capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in income producing debt, preferred and convertible securities. It may invest without limit in below-investment-grade securities, commonly referred to as "high yield" securities or "junk" bonds. The fund may invest up to 50% of its net assets in dollar-denominated securities issued by non-U.S. companies.
