Investment Strategy

The Fund aims to generate income together with long term capital growth. The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing primarily in debt securities denominated in Pounds Sterling. The Fund may invest in debt securities (including convertibles) issued by corporations or issued/ guaranteed by any government, government agency, supranational or public international organisation globally. The Fund may also invest in securitised debt (such as ABS and MBS).

Biography Michael J. Matthews, CFA, is a managing partner at Financial Trust and is involved in all aspects of the firm’s business, including management of the firm’s proprietary investment strategies. Mr. Matthews currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the CFA Level 1 Review Program at Florida Atlantic University where he teaches Quantitative Methods, Economics, Derivatives, and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he earned his B.S. in Finance and Economics from the University of Central Florida while interning at the UCF Foundation where he performed various supporting activities for the university’s endowment. Upon graduating in 2009, Mr. Matthews worked in the proprietary trading industry in both New York City and South Florida. portfolios. Michael began his investment career in 1995, joining the co-heads of the Henley Investment Centre's Fixed Interest team, Paul Read and Paul Causer, upon the team’s foundation. He initially specialised in the team’s money and foreign exchange market activities before predominantly focusing on government and investment grade credit markets. Michael has passed the associate examinations of the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR).
