This is Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and CEO of FTX, the third-largest crypto exchange in the world at the time of this recording! He's currently worth around $10 billion according to his own estimates. But he's not your usual billionaire.
He appears to be a new breed of entrepreneur who thinks obsessively — and, at times, counterintuitively — about the value of becoming rich. Their civic-mindedness doesn’t lead them into do-gooder careers, but careers where they can maximize their fortunes. And Bankman-Fried has ridden the crypto boom really, really well.
Part of his plan looks familiar to that any entrepreneur: Make a tremendous amount of money by any means necessary.
But part two is quite different: In part two he plans to give it all away by the best means possible.
