Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Construction and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 2.86% or 7.00 points to trade at 251.90 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) added 1.99% or 0.25 points to end at 12.84 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.42% or 1.27 points to 90.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 1.40% or 0.060 points to trade at 4.220 in late trade. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 1.38% or 0.08 points to end at 5.71 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 1.29% or 0.58 points to 44.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 255 to 228 and 189 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.27% or 0.62 to $48.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.48% or 0.77 to hit $51.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.26 to trade at $1289.74 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.04% to 4.2835, while USD/PLN rose 0.33% to 3.6372.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 93.31.
