Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Transport and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 5.99% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.300 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 5.83% or 0.130 points to end at 2.360 and Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO) was up 5.25% or 2.540 points to 50.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 6.67% or 2.80 points to trade at 39.20 in late trade. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 2.73% or 0.11 points to end at 3.92 and Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) shed 2.49% or 0.24 points to 9.39.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 189 to 138 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.05 to $1269.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.59% or 0.78 to hit $49.96 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.62% or 0.81 to trade at $50.79 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.97% to 3.1109, while EUR/TRY rose 0.90% to 3.3936.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 98.86.
