According to a report from CNN on Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
CNN, citing "multiple sources," said the pair will make an appearance in their first joint rally in Philadelphia later today before visiting other battleground states this week.
The decision ends significant speculation regarding which candidate Harris would pick to go up against Donald Trump. The Republican nominee and former president, picked his choice for vice-president in July, naming Ohio senator JD (NASDAQ:JD) Vance as his running mate.
Meanwhile, Harris, who has stepped in to replace Joe Biden is looking to build on her campaign launch. Biden stepped down after bowing to pressure from Democratic colleagues, dropping out of the race after a disastrous debate performance against Trump.
Meanwhile, CNN also reported that a source told them Harris intends to show up for a September 10 debate on ABC. They state that Harris will use the airtime even if Trump does not participate. Trump has said he will only debate on Fox.
