Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Tobacco, Chemicals and Fixed Line Telecommunications sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 5.99% or 16.50 points to trade at 291.80 at the close. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 4.82% or 22.70 points to end at 493.40 and Carnival PLC (LON:CCL) was up 4.46% or 40.4 points to 947.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ITV PLC (LON:ITV), which lost 2.33% or 1.72 points to trade at 72.10 in late trade. DCC plc (LON:DCC) declined 2.21% or 118.0 points to end at 5230.0 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) shed 2.07% or 275.0 points to 13000.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1092 to 1047 and 234 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 6.95 to $1913.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.24% or 0.10 to hit $41.22 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.09 to trade at $42.84 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.55% to 1.2983, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.9076.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 93.275.
