Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Mining and Electronic & Electrical Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which rose 4.08% or 39.70 points to trade at 1013.50 at the close. Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) added 1.94% or 37.00 points to end at 1949.50 and CRH PLC (LON:CRH) was up 1.80% or 48.00 points to 2708.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH), which lost 6.67% or 205.0 points to trade at 2867.0 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) declined 5.94% or 28.89 points to end at 457.70 and Halma PLC (LON:HLMA) shed 1.86% or 39.00 points to 2055.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1144 to 998 and 230 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.90 to $1418.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.94% or 0.54 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.55 to trade at $63.27 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.08% to 1.2580, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8967.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.350.
