Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments, Textile & Leather and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE), which rose 1.91% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.670 at the close. Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) added 1.81% or 0.40 points to end at 22.54 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 1.61% or 0.060 points to 3.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vestel (IS:VESTL), which lost 8.01% or 0.580 points to trade at 6.660 in late trade. Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) declined 6.93% or 2.60 points to end at 34.90 and Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) shed 4.41% or 0.26 points to 5.63.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 281 to 70 and 59 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.48% or 6.25 to $1296.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.61% or 1.20 to hit $44.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.17% or 1.50 to trade at $45.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.24% to 2.8051, while EUR/TRY rose 0.91% to 3.2314.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 92.65.
