Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which rose 5.33% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.270 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 1.82% or 0.050 points to 2.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which lost 10.65% or 4.25 points to trade at 35.65 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) declined 9.55% or 3.20 points to end at 30.30 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) shed 5.51% or 0.65 points to 11.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 318 to 85 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.32% or 3.80 to $1208.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.31 to hit $60.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.14% or 0.74 to trade at $66.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.66% to 2.6165, while EUR/TRY rose 0.33% to 2.8712.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 96.52.
