Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.25% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekstilbank (IS:TEKST), which rose 8.81% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.470 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 3.52% or 0.07 points to end at 2.06 and Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) was up 2.84% or 0.080 points to 2.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 in late trade. Pegasus (IS:PGSUS) declined 3.81% or 0.800 points to end at 20.200 and Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN) shed 3.80% or 0.150 points to 3.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 255 to 143 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.00 to $1115.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.73% or 0.31 to hit $42.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.10 to trade at $48.65 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.04% to 2.8973, while EUR/TRY rose 0.55% to 3.1952.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 97.05.
