Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments, Insurance and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 12.38% or 0.93 points to trade at 8.44 at the close. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) added 11.42% or 0.41 points to end at 4.00 and Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) was up 7.72% or 0.590 points to 8.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO), which lost 9.58% or 0.460 points to trade at 4.340 in late trade. Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) declined 3.84% or 0.71 points to end at 17.76 and Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) shed 3.36% or 0.050 points to 1.440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 184 to 140 and 81 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 2.61% or 34.20 to $1278.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.13 to hit $48.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.29 to trade at $51.18 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.22% to 3.0555, while EUR/TRY rose 1.08% to 3.4223.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 96.05.
