Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Insurance, Banking and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 5.25% or 1.74 points to trade at 34.90 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 3.33% or 0.33 points to end at 10.23 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) was up 3.14% or 0.22 points to 7.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which lost 1.94% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.010 in late trade. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) declined 1.88% or 0.13 points to end at 6.80 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) shed 1.79% or 0.080 points to 4.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 176 to 148 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.43% or 5.25 to $1213.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.34% or 1.55 to hit $47.91 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 3.44% or 1.61 to trade at $48.47 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.04% to 3.3659, while EUR/TRY rose 0.29% to 3.5766.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 100.98.
