Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.73% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which rose 4.74% or 0.720 points to trade at 15.910 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 2.59% or 0.110 points to end at 4.350 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 2.21% or 0.50 points to 23.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO), which lost 6.62% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.680 in late trade. Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) declined 4.35% or 0.060 points to end at 1.320 and Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) shed 4.30% or 0.120 points to 2.670.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 278 to 93 and 33 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.67% or 8.70 to $1314.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $67.86 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $73.33 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.34% to 4.2329, while EUR/TRY rose 1.57% to 5.0716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 92.38.
