Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which rose 5.07% or 0.290 points to trade at 6.010 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) added 4.03% or 0.210 points to end at 5.420 and Alarko Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:ALGYO) was up 3.75% or 2.05 points to 56.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which lost 4.12% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.650 in late trade. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) declined 3.32% or 0.190 points to end at 5.540 and Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) shed 3.11% or 0.34 points to 10.58.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 187 to 170 and 50 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.11% or 1.50 to $1344.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.28% or 0.83 to hit $65.56 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.50 to trade at $69.39 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.51% to 3.7363, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 4.6617.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 88.72.
