Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which rose 9.03% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.690 at the close. Tekstilbank (IS:TEKST) added 7.51% or 0.160 points to end at 2.290 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) was up 4.46% or 1.70 points to 39.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 19.09% or 1.89 points to trade at 8.01 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) shed 0.96% or 0.15 points to 15.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 296 to 104 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.62% or 6.80 to $1095.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.81% or 0.88 to hit $47.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.72 to trade at $52.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.78% to 2.7612, while EUR/TRY rose 0.05% to 3.0455.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 97.01.
