Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Theil (TW:6271), which rose 10.00% or 13.00 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. Walton Chainte (TW:2425) added 9.95% or 1.95 points to end at 21.55 and Shuttle (TW:2405) was up 9.94% or 0.99 points to 10.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which lost 5.66% or 2.40 points to trade at 40.00 in late trade. Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) declined 5.63% or 1.35 points to end at 22.65 and Pqi (TW:6145) shed 5.00% or 0.80 points to 15.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 488 to 273 and 116 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.86% or 0.46 to $54.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.82% or 0.46 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1237.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.766, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2246.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 101.34.
