Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026), which rose 9.98% or 8.30 points to trade at 91.50 at the close. Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) added 9.90% or 2.45 points to end at 27.20 and Parpro Corp (TW:4916) was up 9.86% or 3.15 points to 35.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which lost 10.00% or 18.00 points to trade at 162.00 in late trade. Epistar Corp (TW:2448) declined 7.85% or 4.60 points to end at 54.00 and Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) shed 6.85% or 1.50 points to 20.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 505 to 291 and 84 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.31% or 0.18 to $57.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.46% or 0.29 to hit $62.82 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1283.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 30.011, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2207.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.12.
