Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mobiletron Electronics Co Ltd (TW:1533), which rose 9.95% or 3.85 points to trade at 42.55 at the close. Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958) added 9.94% or 0.99 points to end at 10.95 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was up 9.94% or 4.50 points to 49.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935), which lost 9.64% or 3.20 points to trade at 30.00 in late trade. Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120) declined 8.93% or 2.70 points to end at 27.55 and Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) shed 8.43% or 10.50 points to 114.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 464 to 306 and 108 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $54.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.29 to trade at $1334.99 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 30.043, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2182.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 91.80.
