Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Shuttle Inc (TW:2405), which rose 9.93% or 2.15 points to trade at 23.80 at the close. CoAdna Holdings Inc (TW:4984) added 7.93% or 2.90 points to end at 39.45 and Chenming Mold Industrial Corp (TW:3013) was up 6.47% or 1.30 points to 21.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536), which lost 8.61% or 2.05 points to trade at 21.75 in late trade. Radiant Opto-Electronics Corp (TW:6176) declined 4.64% or 3.50 points to end at 72.00 and Globe Union Industrial Corp (TW:9934) shed 4.05% or 0.90 points to 21.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 489 to 301 and 88 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.26% or 0.15 to $57.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $63.38 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1257.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.01% to 30.001, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.55.
