Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Financials and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Merry Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2439), which rose 9.95% or 20.00 points to trade at 221.00 at the close. GEM Services Inc (TW:6525) added 9.94% or 6.50 points to end at 71.90 and Advanced Power Electronics Corp (TW:8261) was up 9.87% or 2.95 points to 32.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which lost 9.35% or 4.30 points to trade at 41.70 in late trade. Crowell Development Corp (TW:2528) declined 6.11% or 1.50 points to end at 23.05 and Hong Ho Precision Textile Co Ltd (TW:1446) shed 5.25% or 1.25 points to 22.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 372 to 359 and 145 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $52.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.10% or 0.06 to hit $58.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.38 to trade at $1282.38 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.08% to 30.237, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2202.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.47.
